“My CROWS!!” Your colleague Norman comes running through your office, panic in his eyes. “Upright or bent over… facing left or right… four groups… THEY’RE SPEAKING TO ME!!”. Good Lord, when you took this job at the University, you had no idea how eccentric its faculty would be. Norman flies out of the room, but a photo has fallen from his disheveled briefcase. Norman noted two different attributes in his ramblings - whether a bird is upright or bent over, and whether the bird is facing left or right. He also mentioned “four groups”. Are you able to identify four groups of birds given these noted characteristics?

Using these characteristics, all birds can be classified into one of four categories: upright and facing left, upright and facing right, bent over and facing left, bent over and facing right.

Using these groupings, do you notice anything? Look closely at the birds.

Look at the leg of each bird. Now try reading the groups from left to right, top to bottom.

Reading the birds which are upright and facing right yields “NOBODY”. Reading the birds which are facing down and to the left yields “WILL”. Reading the birds which are upright and facing left yields “BELIEVE”. Reading the birds which are facing to the right and down yields “YOU”.
